OpenSAF is an Open Source project that implements the Service Availability Forum (SA Forum) AIS specification. The project started in 2007 and has put out many releases over the years. OpenSAF technology is widely used in telecom and other industries to achieve highly available solutions. With NFV gaining increased interest from the industry and is driving the need for robust and highly available cloud frameworks, OpenSAF can play a key role in this development.
This presentation will introduce the concept of OpenSAF and how it makes it possible to build applications with 5-6 nines availability. The session will also cover how OpenSAF's unified availability management and
automated upgrade, platform management capabilities help achieve carrier grade service availability. We will also demonstrate how an OpenStack service can be integrated with OpenSAF to achieve millisecond fail-over.
